This article is a must-read for every member of the Christian Youth Crusaders. It explains everything this great youth group stands for and it encourages members to believe that being a member of CYC is part of Gods plan their lives.
WHAT IS CYC ABOUT?
The Christian Youth
Crusaders (CYC) was founded in the year 1994 by Late Ezekiel
Jiji. He had a passion to bring young people together in the Church to build
them up so that they are able to stand tall and out wherever they find
themselves in the society.
He and a group of 5 to 7 other youths brainstormed and they
came up with the name ‘Christian Youth Crusaders’. I do not know much of the
history but today you are reading this letter because God led him (Late Ezekiel
Jiji) to start up something that would be a blessing to every youth.
OUR MOTTO
Moving with Christ and not with the crowd.
This is a very strong statement. Moving with Christ is a
journey that takes forever because GOD is the beginning and the end. Looking at
this scripture Phillipians 1:21 where Paul said ‘For me, to live is Christ, to
die is gain’ What will make Paul say that? There must be a reason why
he said if he lives, it is about Christ and that even if he dies he still gains
because it is Christ too. That is what I call AMAZING! CYC’s driving force is
Christ, that’s all.
OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

To bring every youth to the knowledge and love
of Jesus Christ.

To encourage youths to live exemplary lives and
be good members of the church and the nation at large.

To be a part of the body of Christ local and
international spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.

To build better social interaction among youths.

To enhance the intellectuals among youths
through seminars, lectures and workshops.
Reading the above, you will agree that a lot of hard work
needs to be done. But our confidence is that except God helps us, we are bound
to fail and be frustrated in our every endeavour. Christ’s desire is that
everyone, I mean everyone comes to know him personally. Jesus said in John
15:15 "No longer do I call YOU slaves, for the slave does not know what
his master is doing; but I have called YOU friends, for all things that I have
heard from My Father I have made known to YOU”.
YOU ARE JESUS’ FRIEND!!!!!!! Can you beat that? Oh! Thank
you Jesus! Our aims and objectives are exactly what God wants us to do and HE
will help us achieve them by strengthening us through Christ.
You see! Great things await us youths. I desire that God
opens your eyes to see the wonders of HIS hands everywhere. The stars, the
moon, the sun, your hand, your mouths, the trees, breeze etc. All speaks of
God’s awesomeness. Are you not excited to be a youth in this time? Forget that
others don’t see this, but we should not let anyone look down on us because we
are YOUNG. Never! God’s Spirit is upon you and it is all about LOVE. LOVING GOD
and your neighbour. That’s how we can achieve the above aims and objectives. It
is not a one-time thing. It is a forever thing.
We are a group of young people committed to evangelism,
worship, fellowship, discipleship and ministry. Now before you say, we have not
done anything in that regards, I want us to know that presently we are building
a structure and an identity now. It is time to soar on the Grace of God. We can
do this. We can make this work. We can be successful. We can be the best youth
group ever. We need each other. Most importantly, GOD is with us and He is
excited about what He is going to do through us. Yes, GOD is excited about you!
My prayer is, as you have taken out time to read this, a
passion has been placed in your heart to be part of this building process.
You’ll always be welcome because it is between you and God and not any man or
what man says.
May the Grace of God be with you forever, Amen!
